Privacy Policy

Marathon Consulting provides AI enablement and implementation services to small businesses in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. This policy explains what information we collect through our website, marathonconsultingai.com, how we use it, who receives it, and the choices you have.
1. Information you give us
Contact form
Our contact form asks for your name and email address (both required), and optionally your business name, phone number, and a description of the work you'd like to stop doing by hand. When you send it, the form is submitted to Netlify, our website host, which stores the submission so we can read and reply to it. Netlify may also record technical details with each submission, such as your IP address, browser type, and the page you submitted from, and it screens submissions for spam using a service called Akismet.
Email signup
The email signup box on our home page asks only for your email address. It is also submitted to and stored by Netlify. We are building our email list and have not yet connected an email-sending service. If we add one, we will update this policy.
Calendly bookings
The scheduling calendar on our site is provided by Calendly. When you book a consultation, you enter your information directly into Calendly: the time you choose, your name, and your email address. Calendly shares the booking details with us and adds the booking to our Google Calendar so we can hold the call. Information you submit through Calendly is also governed by Calendly's Privacy Notice. If you arrived from one of our ads, the campaign tags from that link (described in section 2) are passed to Calendly with your booking.
Notifications to us
When someone submits the contact form or email signup, or books through Calendly, we receive an email notification with those details.
Emails you send us
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
2. Information collected automatically
Website hosting
When your browser requests a page, Netlify receives technical information such as your IP address, browser type (user agent), the page requested, and the page that referred you. Netlify uses this to deliver the site and keep it secure. Netlify does not set cookies on our site.
Fonts
Our pages serve their font files through Netlify, our website host. Loading these fonts does not send a request to Google Fonts.
Ad campaign tags
Links in our ads may include tags in the web address (UTM parameters) that identify the platform, campaign name, and ad name. These tags become part of the page address, which is recorded by the tools described below and passed to Calendly if you book.

The Calendly calendar runs in its own frame from calendly.com and uses Calendly's own cookies, which are covered by Calendly's Privacy Notice.
3. Meta Pixel and advertising
We advertise through Meta, for example on Facebook and Instagram, and we use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms, Inc., on every page of our site. It runs in your browser and loads when a page loads. Through it, we and Meta use cookies, pixels, and similar storage technologies to collect or receive information from our website, and Meta also collects information elsewhere on the internet. Meta uses that information to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads, including ours.
When you use our site, Meta may receive:
- Browser and device information, such as browser type, screen size, language, and time zone.
- Your IP address, which can indicate approximate location.
- Cookie and advertising identifiers, including the
_fbpand_fbccookies above and Meta's own cookies if you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram in the same browser. - The pages you view, including the full page address with any campaign tags, the page title and description, and the page that referred you.
- The actions we track, described below.
Actions we track
- PageView when a page loads.
- Lead when our thank-you page loads after you successfully submit the contact form. It includes the label "Contact form."
- Schedule when Calendly confirms a booking. It includes the label "AI Assessment." It does not include your name, email, or other booking details.
What Meta collects automatically
Meta's pixel settings can collect more than the actions we set up:
- Button clicks. Meta records clicks on buttons such as "Send it over" and "Sign up" as an event called SubscribedButtonClick, along with the button's text, information about the page, and the structure of the related form, such as field names and placeholder text.
- Hashed contact details. Meta's automatic advanced matching is currently turned on for our pixel. When you click the button to submit our contact form or email signup, the pixel converts contact details you have typed into those forms, such as your email address, phone number, and name, into hashed codes and sends those codes to Meta with the button-click event. Meta uses them to try to match your visit to a Meta account for ad measurement and delivery. Your typed information is not sent to Meta in readable form.
Meta uses the information it receives for ad measurement, attribution (connecting ads to the actions people take afterward), ad delivery, and optimization (deciding who is likely to respond), and as described in Meta's Privacy Policy.
We do not use Meta's Conversions API, upload customer lists to Meta, or send purchase or payment information to Meta.
4. How we use information
- To respond to your inquiries.
- To schedule and hold consultations.
- To send emails you signed up for.
- To operate, maintain, and secure our website, including filtering spam submissions.
- To measure the results of our advertising and understand which ads lead to inquiries and bookings.
- To improve our website and marketing.
- To comply with legal obligations.
5. Service providers

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, and to a successor if our business is sold or reorganized.
We do not sell personal information for money.
6. Your choices
Meta
- Ad preferences in Meta's Accounts Center let you control whether Meta uses information from other websites and apps, like ours, to show you ads.
- Your activity off Meta technologies lets you review activity businesses have sent to Meta, clear it, and disconnect future activity from your account.
- Meta's Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy explain how Meta uses this information and the controls it offers.
Your browser
- You can delete cookies and site data for our site in your browser settings.
- The
_fbpand_fbccookies are set on our own domain, so blocking only third-party cookies does not prevent them. Blocking all cookies for our site, or using a browser or extension that blocks trackers, can stop the Meta Pixel from running or storing identifiers. - Our site does not currently respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals.
Industry opt-out tools
You can opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies, including Meta, through the Digital Advertising Alliance's WebChoices tool, or in Europe through Your Online Choices. These choices are saved in cookies in the browser you use, so they apply only to that browser and are lost if you clear its cookies. Opting out does not stop all advertising or all data collection; it means participating companies won't use your browsing to choose which ads you see.
Other options
- You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time.
7. How long we keep information
We delete contact form submissions, email signups, and Calendly booking records, including the related notification emails and calendar entries, within 12 months of receiving them.
Meta and Calendly keep information according to their own policies.
8. Security
Our website is served only over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and we rely on established providers to host our site, store form submissions, and handle bookings. No website or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us.
9. Children's privacy
Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website, tools, or practices change. We will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above.
